Privacy
What you type never leaves your device. Vikey only goes online to check for updates (on the Mac). The Vikey keyboard on iPhone never goes online.
What you type
Vikey reads the keys you press to turn them into Vietnamese text, right on your Mac. Your keystrokes never leave it.
Website addresses
To remember the language for each website, Vikey reads the domain of the open tab in Safari, Chrome, Arc, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers. The first time, macOS asks for Automation permission. Firefox is not supported yet. Domains are stored only on your Mac.
Update checks
Once a day, or when you choose "Kiểm tra cập nhật…" (Check for Updates), Vikey downloads the list of versions from vikey.app. The request only includes the Vikey and macOS version numbers, nothing about what you type. Turn off automatic updates and Vikey only checks when you ask.
The Vikey keyboard on iPhone
The keyboard does everything on your iPhone: turning keys into Vietnamese, switching English/Vietnamese, suggestions and auto-correct. It never goes online and never sends or stores what you type.
"Allow Full Access" is used only for haptic feedback when you type. Without it the keyboard works fully, just without vibration. If you turn on Diagnostics, the keyboard writes how long each tap took to a file on your device, never the text you type; the file only leaves your device if you tap "Send log" yourself.
The Vikey app collects no data, has no ads and does no tracking.
This website
vikey.app uses no cookies and does not track visitors.
If you leave your email to hear when Vikey comes to a new platform, Vikey stores only that email and the platform name, uses it only for that one notice, and shares it with no one. To have it removed, let us know.
